What is origami?

Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper in to hundreds of unique shapes: animals, flowers or even everyday objects.

Origami jewelry…?

I fold 2 to 5 cm sheets of origami paper into various shapes (flowers, birds…) A tiny hole is then drilled into each shape to enable them to be used as beads or pendants. Then, the shapes are coated in several layers of glaze. Glaze protects the paper shapes from humidity and makes them stiffer. Jewelry can be worn daily, come rain or come shine!

What is washi paper?

Washi paper is made in Japan according to a traditional process. It is thicker than normal paper. One side is white (displaying the paper’s mulberry tree fibers); the other is printed with vivid patterns.
